U9s play twice

BANBRIDGE Town U9s travelled to Brownstown on Saturday to play Craigavon City and Dromore Amateurs in their development league games.

In the first game against a strong craigavon team the town lost 5-1 with Adam Hamilton getting on the score sheet.

The young Town team were a bit slow out of the blocks in this game and only some superb goalkeeping by Kyle Bradford and excellent defending by Callum Kermath and Lee Whitten kept Craigavon at bay for long periods of the game.

In the second game the Town started alot brighter especially in mid field with Ryan Meara, Jack Murray, Owen Wilson and Patrick McGrath starting to take control.

Adam Hamilton opened the scoring but dromore struck back to lead 3-1. Owen Wilson hit a superb effort into the top corner to make it 3-2 and with time running out and with the last kick of the ball Patrick McGrath struck a low effort into the bottom corner to make the scoreline 3-3.

The U9s showed a lot of character to come back and get a draw and hopefully take that into next weeks games.
