U9s gaining experience

BANBRIDGE Town U9s had another outing at the IFA development centre at Brownstown on Saturday, losing out in both games.

In the first game they played a very strong Portadown side who went two goals up in the early stages of the game. Bobby Jones and Finn Martin made some fine tackles while Osin Login went close for Town.

Portadown scored another two great goals near the end to leave the final score at 4 - 0.

In the other fixture against Sunnyside, Banbridge again went a goal down but then pulled one back with a great strike from Alex Innocenzi to level it at 1-1.

Toby Jones pulled off a couple of fantastic saves while Josh Kerr created a chance for Taylor Hill who fired just over from distance. Alex Innocenzi then had a great header saved from Harry Annett`s corner while Tom King also fired just over with a great shot.

Sunnyside then took a 2-1 lead but Daniel McGivern also went close for Banbridge with a shot from distance. Sunnyside extended their lead and near the end Annett made the Sunnyside `keeper work with a neat shot.

Although not winning both games, the young lads will learn a lot and devlop from the two games.
