Town Juniors Under-15s faced Donegal Celtic for the second time this season at Fullerton Park and were hoping to produce a similar performance to the first game when they ran out easy 6-0 winners - but this was an entirely different affair with only a goal in it.

The locals were missing a few players due to injury and illness, resulting in the side being set up different from the previous week but they got off to a flyer after only 20 seconds when striker Gavin Fearon scored from a through ball by Evan Taylor.

Town grew in confidence from the early goal but were also guilty of becoming a little complacent and confident and were hit with a sucker punch when Celtic equalised after a loose back pass forced goalkeeper Colin Leckey to rush off his line to clear the ball but his clearance deflected off the oncoming striker to end up in the back of the net.

From the restart the Juniors soon found their rhythm again and went in search of a second goal, and it arrived after a beautiful ball over the top from Rory Blair to find winger Mark Bourke.

Shortly after however Celtic equalised after lax defending in Town’s rearguard

Donegal Celtic scored again straight away when a set piece was converted off a defender’s head to make it 3-2.

The Juniors responded shortly after when Jamie McCandless slid a penalty past the grasping hands of an angered ‘keeper to level things up.

The locals began the second half in search of the winner but found the Celtic team hard to break down.

It was only the last ten minutes of the half when the game really started to heat up. A great touch from Ryan Angus taking him past the advancing midfielder led him to find Gavin Fearon with a long ball down the line. Gavin went on to stride past the defenders to finish coolly.
