Lisdrum Celtic were the Town U15s’ opponents last Friday evening under the Cheney Park floodlights and came away on the wrong side of a 3-0 scoreline.
The visitors settled quickest putting the Juniors under emmense pressure and this proved fruitful when they went one up after only three minutes gone. The second half got underway with the Juniors making several changes but Lisdrum were rock solid and they hit the Juniors hard on the counter attack. Goalkeeper Conor Ward pulled off some fine saves and a the back four had to be in top form. They were undone however 10 minutes into the second half, following a fierce goal mouth scramble Lisdrum capitalised to double their tally. The Juniors were dealt a suckerpunch right at the final whistle.
