U14s forced to settle for a point

THE local U14’ welcomed Ridgeway to Havelock Park on Saturday and despite controlling the game for long periods had to settle for a point.

The early stages saw the juniors dominate but Ridgeway looked dangerous on the break and took the lead after a goalmouth scramble.

Banbridge fought back and levelled on 25 minutes Luke Diamond beat two defenders and finished clinically.

After the early setback, the locals were now dominating and took the lead just minutes before the break. Joel Copes got on the end of a McCluskey corner and slammed home from five yards.

The second period again was all Banbridge and the locals had chances to increase their lead but with just 10 mins remaining,Ridgeway equalised after a great run and finish from their number eight.

This was another good all round performance from the entire 12 players.
