U13s serve up a brilliant game

The match was played at a high tempo as both sides fought hard to dominate the match. The Amateurs had the better of the early chances and Jake Dennison was called into action when he cleared off the line after a dangerous ball in from the right.

The deadlock was broken on 21 minutes when a Dromore striker found the back of the net from 18 yards. Dromore kept pressing and nearly doubled their lead only to be denied again by Jake Dennison clearing off the line for a second time.

Town heads didn’t drop by going a goal down and caused Dromore problems, especially through hard work from winger Luke Vint and strikers Jake Laffin and Jordan Walker but were unable to find an opening goal, after a few good chances were denied by the Dromore keeper.

The second half started at a high a tempo with Banbridge coming out in search of an equaliser forcing the Dromore defence to be at their best, and this pressure paid off when they won a free kick on the  right wing. Jake Dennison floated in a pinpoint ball for Jordan Walker to rise highest, sending a strong header into the net leaving the keeper as a spectator.

With the score level Dromore didn’t roll over and came back at Town, but their defence stood strong with keeper Billy Campbell making some fantastic point blank saves.

The Juniors had a second goal in their sights only to be denied again by a fine save from the keeper.

Dromore took the lead when their big striker found a way through and chipped the ball into the the net but Banbridge didn’t let this knock them and they kept pressing in search of another equaliser.

The match was played at high pace with both teams searching for another goal but both defences held strong.

Dromore got the killer goal on 60 minutes when their striker Morgan Gallagher ran through and finished in off the post to end the game 3-1 to Dromore.

This week’s man of the match was Ethan McDonald for a superb display of strength, determination and technique. Well done to both sides for a fantastic display of football which produced a very entertaining match.
