Tullylish turn it around to win by seven points

Bosco were up for this re-match as they raced into a three point lead in the first five minutes. Gavin Moan opened the scoring with a free in the second minute before Declan Byrne and Darragh Murphy pointed from play.

Two Peter Quinn points helped Tullylish settle, but Moan added another three points to put his team 0-6 to 0-2 ahead. Quinn pulled one back for Tullylish before setting up John McAreavey for a point to reduce the deficit to two. Former Down minor Conal Gallagher pointed for Bosco to give them a three-point lead at the break.

Tullylish brought more intensity to their game in the second half and points from Chris McGovern and John McAreavey made it a one-point game. Moan pointed from a long range free to double Bosco’s lead but a scoring burst of 1-3 in just five minutes left them in a very strong position mid-way through the half.

The goal arrived eight minutes into the second half when Chris McGovern shot to the net. Shannon Drainey then scored two points in as many minutes and when Quinn pointed two minutes later Tullylish were now leading by four points and firmly in the driving seat.

Aaron Beattie pulled one back for Bosco but Seamus O’Hare collected a long ball and pointed from close rage. Further points from Quinn and McGovern extended Tullylish’s lead to six points.

Tullylish’s last two scores were magnificent long-rage points from Conor Magee and Shannon Drainey, which left the final score Tullylish 1-14 Bosco 0-10.
