Tuffey released by Linfield

Banbridge goalkeeper Jonny Tuffey has been released by Linfield.

The 28 year-old keeper signed for the Blues two years ago after returning from Scotland, where he had played for Partick Thistle and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

A former Northern Ireland international, Tuffey made 77 appearances in two seasons for Linfield.

“It is disappointing to see the three lads go,” said Linfield boss Warren Feeney after also releasing strikers Sammy Ward and Conor McMenamin.

“Jonny and Sammy are experienced pros who both enjoyed playing for the club. They were great to work with.

“Conor scored a lot of goals for the Swifts and I thank him for his efforts too.

“They are all a credit to Linfield Football Club and I wish them every success in the future.”
