Transfer deadline day drama as Town make double capture

Banbridge Town moved on the last day of the transfer window to make two last minute signings.

Chris McGrath has rejoined the club from Premiership outfit Warrenpoint. The junior international comes in great shape after completing his pre-season with the old club.

Also signed is local lad Johnny Kernaghan, who had been making waves with Lisburn Distillery before making the move to Banbridge.

It is hoped that both players will prove an asset to Ryan Watson’s side, who have their first away league fixture of the season on Saturday when they travel to Belfast to face Sports and Leisure Swifts.

And they will be looking to keep up their fine run of form which has seen them reach the heady heights of the top of the Championship Two table. A win over the West Belfast side would be their fourth on the bounce and would continue a start which very few people were expecting to see from this rebuilt Town side.

Watson will have Paul Walsh fully fit after he only made the bench for their last outing against Glebe Rangers and Mark Teggart, who missed their 3-1 win last week.

Kick-off on Saturday is at 3pm.
