Town Under 10s play best game of season so far

In the first game the boys tried to get their passing game going but the opposition closed them down well and then took the advantage with a great long-range strike.

In the second fixture, Banbridge played some of their best football of the season with every player playing their part in a magnificant performance.

Town seemed to always be a threat in the early stages and deservedly took the lead when a great exchange of play from Taylor Hill and Josh Kerr resulted in the latter setting up Harry Annett for a clinical finish just inside the post to open the scoring. At the other end, the opposition went close with new keeper Andy Chuck pulling off two fantastic saves aided by great clearances from Calum Kermath and Tom King while Brogin McComisky made a couple of timely interceptions.

Banbridge doubled their advantage when the industrious Hill slid in Annett who progressed towards goal and tucked the ball under the keeper. Kerr got a deserved goal when Annett set him up for a well taken finish to increase the gap. Sannon Carr made a timely challenge to keep a clean sheet at the other end but then the opposition hit the post with Chuck handling well.

Owen Wilson then thumped one into the roof of the net after good approach play by Meira and then got a second to round off the scoring. Well done to new keeper Andy Chuck who had a super debut in goal.

TEAM TWO

In their first game, Town played excellent football and soon were in the lead when Adam Hamilton shot into the top corner early on. At this stage Banbridge were well on top and with Lee Whitten and Bobby Jones having superb games in defence. Banbridge soon made it two when Owen Wilson found Hamilton who again found the net.

Midfielder Patrick McGrath was unlucky not to make it three when he thumped a post with a long range effort. Near the end an Alex Innocenzi pass released Adam Hamilton who raced clear and calmly scored for his hat-trick and Banbridge’s third. Right on the full time whistle keeper Toby Jones pulled off a superb save to keep his clean sheet.

In the second game Banbridge continued where they left off. It was Hamilton who again robbed the last defender of the ball before sprinting away and opening the scoring. They soon made it two when Hamilton’s cross was met by Patrick McGrath and his effort went in off an opposing defender.

Josh Noble found himself unlucky not to score when he jinxed into the box only for his effort to thump the crossbar and they hit the post again through Patrick McGrath’s effort from the edge of the area.

Ten minutes from time Banbridge made the game safe when Hamilton’s left foot shot found the bottom corner for his second of the game.
