Town U14s put in a great display

BANBRIDGE Town Juniors U14s travelled to Barbour Playing Fields on Saturday and duly secured a top four finish with a workmanlike 3-0 win against Shankill.

After defeating Glentoran 3-2 the previous Saturday the Juniors were confident and controlled in their approach and took a 1-0 lead after 15 minutes; Curtis Stewart expertly dispatching a penalty after Burns was upended in the box.

Playing assured passing football, the locals increased their lead just five minutes later. Ace marksman Luke Diamond scored with a neat finish.

The Juniors added their third just before the half-time break, again Curtis Stewart with a far post header from a superb Neil Cherry cross.

There was to be no further scoring in the second period and the Juniors looked comfortable throughout. This was another superb team performance from this U14 squad who have been magnificent this season.
