The match began at a quick pace with both keepers being tested early on.

The local ladies confined their opposition to long range attempts at goal which were easily dealt with by Danielle Byrne. Some good play from Tiffany Hagen, Tina Brush and Hayley Annett on both wings gave the Town their best opportunities of the half but they could not take advantage.

The perfect, sunny conditions and a pristine pitch allowed for some good football to be played from both sides.

It was Linfield who would take the lead through some good build up play and a well-placed finish. The Town Ladies continued to try and get their foothold in the game but just before the half, Linfield got another goal on a quick break and so the score was 2-0 at half time.

After some tactical changes at the break, Banbridge once again started the half brightly with several chances again coming their way and, although they worked the goalkeeper, they could not convert them.

BTLFC would come to rue these missed chances as Linfield soon found the back of the net once more with a superb long-range effort. At this stage, the locals could not seem to get out of their own half and with Linfield playing some excellent football, it was inevitable that more goals would come.

And so it came to be with three more goals from an excellent Linfield display, paired with a very average Banbridge performance.

One last chance would come for BTLFC as Lauren Thompson made a great run the length of the pitch and then slipped the through ball to sub Zoe Mitchell, who worked the goalkeeper well but unfortunately could not find the back of the net to leave the final score at 6-0 to Linfield.
