Town AFC boss remains upbeat despite first taste of defeat for his boys

Banbridge Town AFC boss Christian Beattie was in positive mood despite his side’s opening day 2-0 defeat to Cookstown Celtic.

“I was very pleased with the players work rate and attitude and I believe the future is bright,” he said.

“We have a very young squad but it is full of guys who want to learn and improve.

“I changed the tactics with 15 minutes to go and put another striker on in place of the very hard working Chris Burns but it wasn’t to be.”

Town AFC certainly pressed hard for the equaliser at 1-0 down but couldn’t make the telling breakthrough.

With the Town first team without a game, AFC hold the fort at Crystal Park on Saturday, taking on Valley Rangers in their first league fixture.
