Ten-man team go to Ballymena

BANBRIDGE were unfortuntely only able to field ten players against Ballymena on Saturday morning - but they all played their part in giving the visitors a really competitive match.

Although Ballymena had the majority of the possession in the first half, the Banbridge defence kept their shape and defended well - with a little help from the crossbar on one occasion. Ballymena eventually opened the scoring after 25 minutes with a close range header but the locals came close to equalising when Declan Loy put a lovely ball through to Josh Cargin whose effort was saved well  by the keeper.

Town began the second half strong with Declan Loy firing just wide after some great work on the left by Lee Close and Josh Cargin. Ballymena added a second as the Juniors began to tire and with ten minutes left on the clock they added a third from a penalty. Banbridge continued to compete right to the end and showed great fighting spirit in what was one of their best performances of the season.

Team: Jonny Walsh, Niall McCreanor, Dylan Martin, Reece Milligan, Lee Close, Michael Jordan, Stephen McCavitt, Andrew Martin, Declan Loy, Josh Cargin
