Sunnyside had come into this game with some form and as the half wore on they began to exert more and more pressure on the home defence.

The game exploded into life within 10 minutes of the restart when Banbridge striker Aaron Thompson drilled home from close range with the aid of a deflection. Celebrations were short-lived as Sunnyside responded almost immediately with an unstoppable long range free-kick.

The game then ebbed and flowed, but with playmaker Curtis Stewart pulling the strings in midfield, Banbridge continued to dominate the possession. As chances were being spurned at the other end, it was left to the home defence to secure the points, with solid performances by Peter Maxwell at centre-half and Scott Armstrong at left-back.

Thanks go to the U13s’ sponsors, Centra and Bann Taxis.
