Streak comes to an end

DROMORE travelled to take on Saintfield last Saturday on the back of a four game winning streak.

They welcomed Rowan Taylor into the squad making his debut.

The first half was very encouraging for Dromore with some neat one-twos being played from the midfielders of Aaron Hanna, Rowan Taylor, Harry Lockhart and especially James Howard who was winning every challenge and was showing some great feet when dribbling with the ball.

This fast attacking play was creating chances for Lewis Sinclair and Tom Stannage.

Dromore got themselves in front after Harry Lockhart and Rowan Taylor linked up well and a through ball found Tom Stannage racing through on goal and he lobbed the out-rushing Saintfield keeper.

The second half started well for Dromore and Ian Palmer in defence was keeping everything safe. Midway through the half Saintfield got a deserved equaliser after a wonder strike from outside the box nestled in the top corner leaving Oliver McLuckie no chance of stopping it.

Jamie Gregg nearly put Dromore back in front after he did really well dribbling round 3 Saintfield defenders when in their box but was crowded out at the last moment when trying to get a shot off.

Five minutes from the end Saintfield got a corner and the ball was drilled in, which was met by their forward to head home and give Saintfield all three points.

The George Best Man of the Match went to Harry Lockhart and the Coaches Award went to James Howard.

Next Saturday the U12s travel to play Ballywalter Rec U12s at the Billy Neill Centre at 11am.
