Solitary goal is enough to beat U13s

Dromore thought they had opened the scoring when quick thinking from Harry Lockhart found Oliver McLuckie free in the centre of the pitch and Oliver played a defence splitting ball through for Lewis Sinclair to latch on to and score. Much to the dismay of the travelling supporters it was disallowed for offside.

Cruel luck then struck Dromore right on the stroke of halftime. A high clearance from the Newhill defender saw the ball bounce on the 3G surface beyond the advancing Dromore reargaurd to allow the Newhill forward to race on to it to open the scoring.

The second half was more off the same with both teams battling hard for the next goal. Dromore should have scored first when a melee in the Newhill penalty box saw Dromore have four quick attempts with the ball being cleared off the line and blocked in a frantic 15 seconds passage of play.

Newhill looked dangerous themselves when on the attack and they got their reward when a strong corner was met with a fierce header from close range to send the three points their way.

On the day it was a good team performance which the whole squad contributed to but Jamie Gregg and Miguel Ferreira were vying for the man of the match award.
