Scarva on the look-out for new boss
Scarva Rangers FC have embarked on the search for a new first team manager.
Maurice Brown recently informed the club that he had decided to relinquish the position.
It marks the end of a very successful managerial spell at the village club. He had guided Scarva Rangers FC to the Mid-Ulster Division Two league title for the first time in the club’s history and built upon that last season, when his side enjoyed a highly impressive debut season in their new surroundings of Division One.
Club chairman Sam Grattan paid tribute to Maurice and wished him well in the future.
“Mo carried out the role with energy, infectious enthusiasm and dedication, both in training and on match days,” Sam said. “He deserved the success that such commitment brings.
“Prior to becoming first team manager, Mo cut his managerial teeth with the reserve team. We thank him for the contribution he made during his time in that role and also his whole-hearted commitment as a player for Scarva. He made many friends during his time with us.”
The chairman added: “The search now begins for a new manager and we firmly believe it presents an exciting opportunity for someone to manage a club playing in the top flight of Mid-Ulster junior football.
“Scarva Rangers is one of the longest-established clubs in the whole of the Mid-Ulster League and thanks to Banbridge District Council we have one of the very best grass pitches in Mid-Ulster and access to superb training facilities.
“As a club we look forward to appointing our new manager and to working together with that person to build on the success of recent seasons.”
