THE Reserves progressed through to the next round of the Mid Ulster Shield with an emphatic 8-1 against Rockview United of the Carnbane League.
Keith McVitty opened the scoring after 10 minutes, calmly converting McGarry’s pullback from the byline.
The lead was doubled after twenty minutes with the same two players involved in a carbon copy of the first goal.
The Village went in three up at half time with Ross Martin bagging his first Village goal, making a late run into the box and nodding in Mark Myles corner at the back post.
In the second half, McVitty added two more to take his tally to four, a Lee McGrath penalty, goals from Steven and Craig Campbell, and a mere consolation with ten minutes to go from Rockview led to a final scoreline of 8-1.
The Reserves controlled the game throughout, playing excellent football, and will travel to Ballymacash next week with confidence high.
The club would like to thank Ryan Doran of Razor Edge, Dromore, for kindly sponsoring the game.
