Donacloney man Pedlow had recently missed two years through a knee ligament injury and scored his first goal since his return last Saturday.

However, he had to be stretchered off during training on Tuesday evening after damaging ankle ligaments. Pedlow is expected to miss weeks rather than months and the manager hopes to see him back before the end of the season.

“We were playing a training match, he tried to turn and heard a click,” said Ryan Watson.

It couldn’t have come at a worse time, just as the former Loughgall man was back in the goals and, the manager said after Saturday’s game, pushing for a regular starting spot.

“It was only Adam’s second start so it was great to see him getting back in the goals,” Watson had told the ‘LEADER. “For the first 20-25 minutes, he looked a real threat and tucked his goal away very nicely.

“That was a great positive to take away from the game.

“We still have to work on his match fitness but he’s back in contention. There is stiff competition for places in the areas he plays so it’s up to who wants it and who is in form.

Meanwhile, forward Conor Downey also suffered an injury during training and Watson rated him as ‘50/50’ to make this weekend’s match.
