Local sides hope to keep dreams alive this weekend in cup matches

It is a big weekend for the local football teams, with many facing crucial cup ties while a local derby takes place in Division Two.

Banbridge Rangers will be hoping to get back to winning ways this weekend when they travel to Lisburn to take on Division Four side Sporting Lisburn in the second round of the Marshall Cup.

Moneyslane are hosting Ardstraw FC in the Intermediate Cup first round at Jubilee Park with a 1.30pm kick off.

This match was due to be a home game for Ardstraw but after a waterlogged pitch for two consecutive weeks, it has been moved to Jubliee Park.

There is a local derby as Scarva Rangers host Gilford Crusaders in Division Two and with both teams lying near the bottom of the table, this will be a crucial six pointer.

In Division Three, Donacloney travel to Lurgan side Goodyear and they will be hoping to continue their recent good form and pick up another three points.

Rathfriland Rangers travel to fellow Division 1A side Abbey Villa in the fourth round of the Irish Cup and will be hoping to progress to the next stage where the Irish Premiership sides enter the competition.

Banbridge Town host Amateur Premier Division side Crumlin United in the Irish cup and will hope to continue their good form of late.
