Local company provides minibus boost for Carniny Youth

Carniny Amateur & Youth FC players are now excitedly awaiting next season’s NIBFA National and North West and Coleraine District League fixtures thanks to KARL Airport Parking’s donation of a minibus.

The youngsters will be able to travel more conveniently to the furthest parts of the province, such as Ballinamallard and Londonderry/Derry, to take part in the competitions.

Karl Airport Parking is based at Karl Business Park and operates a convenient park ‘n’ ride facility to Belfast International Airport.

Manager, Ronnie Stephenson, says: “The company were very pleased to be asked and even happier that we could provide this much needed transport so the children can partake in their games.”

Club Secretary, Billy O’Flaherty, said: “Our Club costs will be drastically reduced now thanks to Karl Airport Parking as we will no longer need to hire a minibus for the fixtures, which could have been as much as a few hundred pounds each time depending on the venue.

“These funds can now be put towards expanding the qualifications of our coaches and updating our equipment at the Club.”

Meanewhile, with the season now at a close Carniny Youth will look forward to their prize giving nights this Thursday and Friday evenings.

The prize nights gives the club time to reflect on another successful and rewarding season for the club.

FOYLE CUP

Four teams from the club will be taking part in the 2014 Hughes Insurance Foyle cup in July with the U10s, 12s, 13s and 16s all travelling to the North West to take part in the prestigious competition where the boys will get the chance to play against some top opposition from N Ireland Ireland, England, Scotland and further afield under the watchful eye of talent scouts.

The U10s have been drawn against, Ballymoor, East Donegal, Bertie Peacock, Sion Swifts and Maiden City, the under12s have drawn east Donegal, Derry City Colts and Waterford. The U13s have a mouth watering draw against Sheffield Utd, Coleraine and Strabane Athletic. The U16s have drawn Foyle harps, Limavady Youth and Donegal.
