Juniors bag Foundation Club Mark 2015

Banbridge Town Juniors Football Club have achieved the prestigious McDonald's FA Foundation Club Mark 2015.

The aim of the programme is to support the development of a club and to implement good practice policies and procedures.

The Foundation Club Mark will prepare Banbridge Town Juniors FC to successfully work towards the Excellence Mark.

The Club Mark also provides a clear and structured approach to improving and developing a club with coach bursaries, coach mentoring and club development planning. It is a benchmark for club quality.

Town Juniors Chairman Peter Watson spoke of his delight that the club has achieved such a distinguished programme.

He said: “Everyone associated with the Juniors are excited about this development at our club. It is a tribute to all the hard work everyone has put in over the years.

“It will benefit greatly all aspects and areas within our set-up and we are looking forward to getting started.”

The club are hoping there are exciting times ahead as they are now accepting applications for their Games Development Centre.

The age groups include Under-7s; born in 2010 and Under-8s; born in 2009 for the season 2016/17 which commences August 1, 2016.

Anyone wishing to apply would first have to attend the Burns Soccer School on Friday nights at Havelock Park 3G from 6.00pm-7.00pm, where their abilities will be assessed. Burns Soccer School runs throughout the summer.

Banbridge Town Juniors Academy have also announced that their Under-14s; born in 2003, Under-15s; born in 2002 and the Under-16s team; born in 2001, will participate in the Lisburn League this coming 2016/17 season.
