Hot on the heels of Saturday’s share of the spoils in Dungannon, Institute gained a superb boost in their first Premiership match on home soil when defeating near neighbours Coleraine.

Indeed, it was a top quality strike in the 62nd minute which finally lit up what had been a disappointing first hafl at the Riverside Stadium .

And a second goal within the space of 10 minutes ended this tie as a contest.

For Institute winger, Stephen Curry, it will have been a goal to remember in the 62nd minute. Having picked up possession on the left flank, Curry’s curling shot screamed into the top corner giving keeper, Eugene Ferry, no chance.

That strike sparked the home side to life and they doubled their lead in the 73rd minute when Darren McCauley combined with Curry on the right flank before his low drive found the bottom corner.

In fact, in the 76th minute Stephen O’Flynn crashed a shot off the butt of the post after what was an superb move and Coleraine were in trouble.
