Banbridge Rangers Under 17s almost staged the perfect second half comeback against Hillsborough Boys on Saturday morning at Havelock Park in a Lisburn League game.
However, the Banbridge Under 17s fell behind late on to a stunning effort from the away side.
Hillsborough had gained their 2-0 advantage by half time and it needed a change in personnel and shape to get Rangers back into the game in the second half.
Reuben Cobb struck the crossbar from 45 yards with an audacious free kick five minutes into the second period which saw the home team begin to dominate.
Several inswinging corners by Matthew Dodds proved to be the key with Bradley Harper volleying in one from close range midway through the half.
Three minutes afterwards another corner from the same side was sent in by Dodds and Ryan Woods rose highest to powerfully head in to make it 2-2.
As the home side pushed for a winner they were caught on the counter attack by Hillsborough with their striker finding the top corner from 20 yards with a superb curling effort and worthy of taking the points.
