That was the verdict of a flabbergasted boss Ryan Watson, who could scarcely have been less pleased with his side’s display.

“I could fill pages. It was shocking - a disaster,” he told the LEADER.

“I don’t know what happened or why so many players were off their game. Why did we make so many silly mistakes?

“It was terrible to watch and I can only apologise to the supporters that came down. It just wasn’t good enough.

“It took me by surprise. It knocked me sideways - flattened me.

“Training has been good all season and even when we turned up on Saturday, I was confident that we could get a result.”

Town dropped two places to sixth in the Championship Two table thanks to the results. They were a little fortunate that Glebe, Dollingstown and Dundela were all defeated and missed their chances to leapfrog or at least close the gap on the Crystal Park side.

“We got away with it a bit last weekend but that won’t happen again,” said Watson, warning his team that a repeat result could spell disaster.

“We have the opportunity to look after our own fate with games against Dundela and Dollingstown coming uo and that’s what we want to do.

“I don’t want to dwell on that result. We have to move on very quickly.

“We need to prove to ourselves first of all that it was a one off. We need to respond positively and show that desire and hunger. That’s what the supporters expect.”
