Five game run comes to an end

DROMORE’S five game unbeaten run ended Saturday morning but can be more than happy with there performance as the progress they’ve shown since the previous game versus Sunnyside ended with a 7-2 defeat.

The locals started the game nervously and sunnyside dominated the early play putting pressure on the defence of Nathan, Jack, Philip and Taylor.. Dromore loosened their shape and it was no surprise when sunnyside took the lead.

Sunnyside continued to press and the Dromore midfield of Alex, Bailey and Jack were being over run with Cameron having to drop deep to help out.

Sunnyside scored a second goal - young Dromore keeper Matthew thought he had made yet another good save only to spill the ball in the wet sloppy conditions for the Sunnyside forward to force it over the line.

The half team team talk from the coaches seemed to do the trick as Dromore came out a totally different team, their shape and passing that they’ve shown the previous few weeks was back and they started to dominate play.

It wasn’t long before they pulled a goal back - a succession of corners resulted in Nathan scoring direct from the fifth one.

Dromore continued to press for the equaliser as sunnyside began to wilt under the heavy wet playing conditions.

Young Jack popped up with a clinical finish in a goalmouth scramble to level the scores.

Dromore then went looking for the winner only to be undone by a scrambled goal from a corner on a rare attack to give Sunnyside a fortunate win.

Dromore can be happy, coming from two goals down and to be unlucky not to get at least a draw in very wet conditions.
