Five alive U14s win at a canter

BANBRIDGE Town Juniors U14s got back to winning ways on Saturday against league strugglers Loughgall.

The locals’ six-month unbeaten league run had been ended midweek at the hands of Distillery and the locals looked nervy in the early stages.

Finally, with 25 minutes gone, Ross Fitzpatrick opened the scoring, finishing off a fine move with a calm finish. Five minutes later Luke Diamond doubled their lead with a superb finish.

The second period had barely restarted when Fitzpatrick got his second, again finishing off a superb move with a fine finish.

The Juniors were in control but Loughgall pulled a goal back with an unstoppable 30 yard free kick.

Luke Diamond then got his second, expertly lobbing the advancing keeper to make it 4-1.

The Juniors could have scored many more and it was left to captain Curtis Stewart to score the fifth and final goal with a 20 yard shot.

This was another controlled performance from the locals and keeps them in third place in the league standings.
