“In the second minute of the game v Tullyvallen, Whitey made a brilliant 1v1 save and on Saturday v Dungannon Tigers when we were leading 1-0, Whitey made two superb saves to keep us ahead,” he said.

“We went through a patch where we were conceding some soft goals and Darragh and I had challenged the players prior to the Tullyvallen game to get back to defensive basics.

“Whitey is a tremendous character and his performances have been excellent,” the ‘Slane boss remarked.

“We have kept two clean sheets on the bounce and Whitey and the defenders in particular, deserve praise,” Johnstone continued.

“The Victory on Saturday away to Dungannon Tigers, I believe, was very significant in the league campaign but we all must focus on one game at a time.

“It was a strong display and a thoroughly deserved three points.

“As I said before, we have done nothing yet and won nothing yet.

“All we have done is put ourselves in a strong position to achieve something memorable this season and only hard work and focus will get us where we want to be,” he concluded.
