Dromore U14s make it nine unbeaten with a high five

There was a high five for Dromore U14s on Saturday as they smashed Midway 5-0.

That took their unbeaten run to nine league games and means they’re now two points clear at the top with a game in hand.

Despite such a comfortable score-line, Midway certainly made Dromore work hard for their win.

Dromore broke the deadlock on 17 minutes when Karl raced onto a ball that the keeper could only half clear and Adam picked up the clearance to beat the keeper.

On 27 minutes, Morgan passed a long ball that ran through to Karl, who headed into the area and was brought down by the Midway defender. Karl took the resulting penalty and finished well into the bottom left.

With Patrick away and Joel out injured, Nathan and Briggs were solid at centre back. Jonnie play well at right back and Liam and Jason at left back. Euan was doing well down the left and forced two corners in a row. Luke played some great balls in from right wing.

In the second half, a great ball forward allowed Karl to run into the box. His onward pass found Adam free and he slipped it across the keeper, to finish in the bottom left.

The next goal followed shortly after when Jason crossed the ball in for Karl who slipped in the box. Phil won the ball back and Jack left the ball well to allow Adam to beat the keeper from just inside the box to the left side of the goal.

Ben came on and showed great pace down the right and drew a defender out of the box, as Adam passed into Karl who had a one-on-one with the keeper. There was only one winner as Karl sent it home with aplomb.

It was another great performance for Dromore and although it was a bit scrappy at times, coaches John and Dave were pleased.

The next game for the Dromore Under 14 lads is against Tandragee.
