Dromara held in entertaining game

Dromara 3

Kilmore Rec 3

THIS was a very entertaining match with plenty of goals and some good passages of play from both sides.

Dromara got off to the best possible start when Jess played a great through ball for the pacy McConnell to latch on to and his pace took him clear to finish with ease.

The visitors did not take long to get back into it and inside another five minutes a sliced clearance fall to the Kilmore forward to score from close range.

They had a good passage of play and midway through the half they took the lead with another close range finish.

Thompson had a good chance to level but put his effort wide, but shortly before half time he did find the net when a corner was cleared but the ball was played back in for him to head home. The home side started the second half brightly and played some decent football and they went three two up when McConnell’s cross to the back of the box was headed back by McNamee for Thompson to score with another header for his second of the game.

Before Kilmore came back into again O’Connor had a great chance to make it four but his effort just missed the target.

Kilmore then started to pile on the pressure and eventually got their reward when they were awarded a freekick which was deemed harsh by the home support against James McDonagh. A good ball was played into the Dromara box and they were unable to clear their lines resulting in another close range finish to gave Gordon no chance.

The result was a fair reflection of the game and both sides played their part in a good match played in good spirit.
