Development games continue

BANBRIDGE Town U9s continued their development league games on Saturday with two tough encunters against Portadown youth then Loughgall Youth.

In the first game against Portadown the Town started brightly and took the lead with Patrick McGrath bending the ball into the net direct from a corner kick.

After this Portadown came back into the game and equalised with ten minutes remaining.

In an end to end game Banbridge again took the lead with a neat passing move involving Lee Whitten and Ryan Meara alllowing Adam Hamilton to poke the ball home.

To their credit Portadown continued to press and got an equaliser in the dying moments to end the game two each.

In the second game against Loughgall the young Town lads found themselves 3-0down.

The Loughgall long ball game causing difficulties to the young Town team.Banbridge tho rallied and played some attractive passing football and pulled two goals back, the first a great run and cut back by Adam Hamilton allowing Owen Wilson to sidefoot home,the second a cracking shot into the top corner by Patrick McGrath.

Banbridge continued to press for the equaliser but unfortunately were caught on the counter attack to leave the final score 4-2.
