Derby win for Amateurs U12s

The first chance of the day came to Josh Best who ran clear and shot from the edge of the box but the keeper saved well. Banbridge were putting pressure on Dromore’s back line but it stayed strong and Dromore were lookin lively on the break.

Dromore were the first team to go in front when their keeper failed to deal with a cross and Karl Teggart finished from close range. Dromore then had a great chance when Josh Best rounded the keeper but then put his chance wide.

Rangers’ centre midfielders were good players and Reuben Turner and Ben Stevenson were workin hard to stop them. Dromore started the second half well with Adam Parker and Scott Briggs creating a few chances from the wide areas.

Banbridge drew level when their forward was brought down on the edge of the box for a free kick Sam Gunn saved it but it went loose in the box and banbridge scored.

Banbridge then had their tails up and were pressing but good play down the right saw Josh Best score with a great finish from 12 yards out.

Dromore left back Benjamin Smyth went on a Messi type run down the left beating five players before been fouled. From the resulting free kick Dromore got their third when Teggart headed home from six yards out for his third of the season.

Dromore defended well for the last five minutes of the game and held on for the win.

Best players on the day were Benjamin Smyth and Joe Luke who both defended very well.
