'˜Cloney Reserves earn an away point against Gilford Crusaders Reserves

Donacloney Reserves went away with a point from their game at Gilford Crusaders Reserves last Saturday.

‘Cloney started well with a number of chances from Keith Johnston and Paul Stevenson getting the better of the Gilford backline.

Paul Stevenson capitalised on a poor Gilford back pass to lay off Peter Wylie who made no mistake in giving Donacloney a 1-0 lead.

Gilford piled on the pressure towards the end of the first half and grabbed the equaliser. A cross was played in from the left and the danger wasn’t cleared by the ‘Cloney defence and the ball ended up in the back of the net from close range for 1-1.

Donacloney had further chances but failed to convert them. Substitute Jonny Stevenson and Keith Johnston came close while Andrew Cairns hit the post. Gilford had chances of their own, including a penalty, saved by ‘keeper Derek Curran.

A hard working performance with two evenly matched teams on the day.
