Championship 1: Rangers hit Dergview for six

Carrick Rangers maintained their unbeaten start to the season as they stormed to an emphatic 6-0 win over Dergview at Dixon Park on Friday night.

Four first-half goals in the space of seven minutes put Michael Hughes’ men firmly in the driving seat.

Jonny Addis, who celebrated his birthday on Thursday, netted the opener just before the half-hour mark.

The 20-year-old was back in the party mood three minutes later when he fired home number two, flashing a sweet left-foot strike past static Dergview keeper Alan Buchanan.

Confidence was oozing through the Rangers team and it was epitomised when midfielder Conor McCloskey scored directly from a corner.

Sencer Yilmaz made it 4-0 with a textbook downward header from a Davidson.

Dergview’s night went from bad to worse just after the hour when defender Gareth Porter headed into his own net.
