Busy weekend of action for Coleraine Under-12s
During most of the game both teams had to contend with a biting wind and blustery showers of rain and hail. Despite the conditions credit must go to both sides for serving up end to end football that was always strongly contested.
Coleraine dominated the opening stages until Berties settled and it was only a strong Coleraine defence that kept a lively forward line at bay.

Hide AdGoals by Charlie O’Neill and Dan Brown (2) gave Coleraine a 3-1 interval lead. Berties opened the second half brightly and as a result scored three in quick succession to lead 4-3 with only twelve minutes remaining.
A change in tactics by Coleraine saw them take the advantage and goals by Charlie O’Neill and Campbell McFaull (2) gave them a hard earned victory.
This was a game where both teams fought doggedly, Coleraine just about deserving the points with a late rally.
Well done to both sets of players for giving the spectators an enjoyable game in difficult circumstances. Man of the Match was Ben Doherty for his untiring work in the Coleraine midfield.

Hide AdColeraine Academy U12s travelled to Letterkenny to take part in a warm up for the Foyle Cup, against Swilly Rovers, Enniskillen and Ballymoor. This was a great opportunity for the coaches to try out squad members in various positions and combinations. The local lads beat Enniskillen 4-1 in the first game before losing narrowly to Ballymoor and Swilly Rovers. Thanks to Gerry Crossan and all at Swilly Rovers for the invitation and their hospitality and to the other participants for a great afternoon of football
