Briggs nets a hat-trick as it's seven heaven for Dromore

Dromore Under 14s romped home to a 7-0 win over Moira last weekend.

They netted the first goal in the 13th minutewhen Briggs drew the keeper out and slotted the ball across the stopper to score from the left side of the box.

The second arrived just a minute later when Liam’s shot was beaten away but Adam followed in to score.

Philip and Morgan played an excellent game in centre midfield and it was Philip who broke up the play in the centre of the park and slid the ball onto Briggs whose run between the two defenders was great. And he finished it off when he rounded the keeper to score.

On half-time, Morgan made a great tackle and passed it back to Briggs who under pressure by three players provided a great cross to Adam, who headed in at the back post.

The scoring continued after the break when Adam’s corner was coolly headed in by Philip whose run into the penalty area was not tracked.

Moira’s best effort came shortly after that but Nathan was alert to clear off the line.

Adam, now on the left, let the ball run past him and cut into the box. He passed a great ball across the six yard box and Luke threw himself forward to stab the home.

With time running out, Karl took a great corner and Briggs chested it down to finish for his hat rick. Ben put in a solid display at right back.

John and Dave were happy with Dromore’s passing performance, which takes them to the top of the table with a game in hand.

Their next game is on Saturday away to Cookstown.
