The Drumahoe man is expecting the Belfast side to come to Drumahoe and work their socks off and make life difficult for his team.

In fact Kee also admitted that some of his ‘big players’ haven’t been performing in recent weeks and changes may happen.

“I think we are starting to see a few players who aren’t performing at their level and we’ll probably bring a couple of boys in who have done well for us and maybe deserve a run in the side,” conceded Kee.

“Young Ryan Varma is the perfect example, he came on at Knockbreda and gave a good contribution. Credit to him, because he has trained well and showed good commitment, his attitude and application has been good, so he deserves to maybe play, so it’s something we might look at for the Welders game.

“We have to earn the right to win football matches and we aren’t doing enough in the first half of games, teams are putting it up to us and I expect the Welders to do the same, so it’s down to the players and making sure their application is right from the first whistle.

“The Welders will be looking forward to coming to the Riverside Stadium and if we don’t meet the challenge then we are going to come up short, but we are at home and we have to start winning our homes games, but a promotion challenge is a new learning experience for quite a lot of the players.”

Paul Miskelly’s side will themselves look to get back to winning ways have suffered three defeats from their last four games and they haven’t secured a victory in the league since way back in August.

That day they had an impressive 2-0 win over Dergview at Tillysburn Park thanks to goals from ex-Lisburn Distillery man Philip Simpson and Ryan Deans.

Kee is also hopeful that if his side are there or there abouts in regards the title race after Christmas then he’ll be a happy man.

Because they have drawn their last four league games, they have fallen five points behind leaders Dundela, but he remains confident that his side can continue their promotion push.

“I know that although we are unbeaten, one point from every game is no good, but if I’m to be honest our main focus is to get to January 1st, then we can re-group, see what players are available.

“I’m not going to deny it, we do need players, we need a bit of experience and if we are in the right position and sitting in and around the top of the table then we might be able to get the right type of player we need.

“We are doing a lot of recruitment and identifying, we are bringing players out to training, so that’s my main target, making sure we are in the mix when the transfer window opens up.”
