Banbridge YCOB make gr-eight start

Banbridge YCOB got their league campaign off to a flyer with an 8-1 demolishing of Sporting Lisburn at the Tech.

New manager Kiearn McCourt couldn’t of dreamed off a better start as right back Sean McAlinden smashed home from inside the box after four minutes.

Rooney squandered a few chances in front of goal before the energetic Stevie McArdle and a penalty from Gartland made 3-0. Lisburn got what turned out to be a consolation goal just before half-time.

Stevie McArdle got his second followed by a double from the lively Sean McKay.

In the final ten minutes McArdle capped a man of the match display with a cool finish to grab his first hat-trick of the season. Sub, Sean Cunningham coolly slotted the eighth and final goal with five minutess remaining.

McCourt has built a strong team with the old heads of Burns, captain McAlinden and Mark Rooney mixing with the travelled McArdle, Drainey and Gartland.
