Five star Slane on target

MONEYSLANE first team played Armagh Rovers in the league at the weekend and needed all three points to keep in contention with the league leaders Lisnastraine.

Slane scored early on with a goal from Clifford Sterritt and should have went two up but Niblock one on one with the keeper was well saved.

They increased the pressure on the home side and forced them back into the own half for most of the second half.

Slane went in front with a well floated ball over the top and a goal from Niblock put Slane two up. Sterritt got his second and Slane’s third when Davenport chipped the defence and a mix up at the Rovers defence let in Sterritt.

Niblock again was on target for Slane before the visitors got one back with a header at the back post. Slane finished off a fine display with a good goal from man of the match John Davenport.
