Firsts win thanks to Lauren’s last gasp goal

DROMORE Ladies Firsts played PSNI last Saturday.

The first half started with Dromore dominating constantly and were unlucky not to score.

Dromore had several attempts at goal with Veronica Cummins and Katie Cochrane unfortunate not to score.

Dromore had several penalty corners but were unable to convert any of these, with Louise McCracken narrowly missing on the left post. The first half ended scoreless. 

Dromore were unlucky not to score with an excellent build up of play from Louise McClurg and Gemma Porter.

As in the first half, Dromore won several penatly corners but were still unable to convert any goals from these.

In the last five minutes of the match Rachel Morrow made a superb run along the back line but had a disallowed goal as the whistle had just been previously blown for a penalty corner.

In the reaming two minutes, the forwards and midfielders linked up well with some brilliant passes from Tara Malcomson, Paige Brown and Jo Leathem which led to a perfectly placed right hand side goal from Lauren Pedlow, making it 1-0 to Dromore. 

 The game was dominated by Dromore Firsts, with PSNI only entering the Dromore half on fewer than 10 occasions and goal keeper Claire Lowry only had to touch the ball twice.

The final score of the match was Dromore 1- PSNI 0.
