First outing for Clann U10s

ROSTREVOR was also the venue for Clann na Banna's first friendly of the season.

In a three period game Bann fought hard against a Rostrevor squad with twice the number of players allowing them to change their whole team round in the second period.

A strong performance in the first period saw Bann open their scoring with a goal from Eoin Scullion aided by a great cross from Keelan Quigley, who added a further point matched again by a Scullion conversion. The period ended with a goal from Jordan Campbell to see them lead by two points.

Bann capitalised in the second period with a weaker Rostrevor team with goals from Keelan Quigley, Eoin Scullion and Sean Casey, Scullion adding a further point to take the vistors to a comfortable lead at the end of the period.

Quigley and Scullion traded a number of wides throughout showing the strength of possession by Bann.

Period three saw a rested Rostrevor first team come out very strong to a tiring Bann side. Time and again Bann's defence was tested to the limit.

Although it was too strong for the Scarva Road squad, it would have been worse if not for the consistent efforts of Fergal Vaughan who was relentless in leading a defence that acted as a true unit in carrying the ball back to the midfield of Sean Casey and Jack Campbell.
