Fine victory for Town Juniors

Banbridge Town

Juniors 3

Seagoe Youth 1

SATURDAY saw Banbridge Juniors face Seagoe Youth in the Mid Ulster Youth League.

The Banbridge boys got off to a confident start with Curtis Lee McKeever and Harry Campbell linking well up the left wing. With this excellent intuitive paring the home side gained the early advantage with Jamie Flack finding the back of the Seagoe net following a fine ball in from the left on the seventh minute.

Despite both sides best efforts neither team could manage to make another breakthrough before the half time whistle.

Seagoe kicked off the second half and following early pressure found the back of the Banbridge net, two minutes in, to equalise.

With the pressure now on the home side upped their game following several tactical substitutions. In the 10th minute Jake Dermott made a fine solo run which saw him chipping the keeper with a sweet left footed shot reinstating their one goal advantage.

The Banbridge midfield combination of Morgan Gallagher and Stephen Campbell continued to impress with some outstanding passing and defensive work. This combined with the rock solid Banbridge defence kept the Seagoe attack at bay.

The home side continued to pressurise Seagoe seeking a two goal advantage which eventually came following a fine through ball from Morgan Gallagher to Jake Dennison who struck the ball beautifully burying it in the top of the Seagoe net in the 24th minute.

This was to be the last meaningful action of the half, resulting in a fine 3-1 win for the Banbridge boys.

This week’s Banbridge man of the match was once again Curtis Lee McKeever for his exceptionally high work rate and display of footballing skills.
