Fancy your chances at a brand new sport for NI?

The country’s first ever ‘Racketlon’ competition will take place in Dromore Community Centre on Saturday 25 April and you can register to play.

The energetic and dynamic activity, that held its 14th World Championships last August in England, involves playing games of Badminton, Squash, Table Tennis and Tennis against your opponent.

Each sport is played to 21 points with the overall winner being the player who scores the greatest overall number of points.

The competition, that is open to adults only, is being organised in conjunction with the Active Communities programme.

Speaking at the launch, Nick Rusk, Racquet Sports Active Communities Coach said: “This is a great opportunity to try a new and growing sport.

“I am keen to see how this event goes because it could open up new possibilities for racquet sports in Northern Ireland and beyond.

“I look forward to seeing players from all the racquet sports represented on the day.

“Most of all, I want the day to be good fun.”

Pre-registration is essential with a £10 entry fee for all competitors. Sign in on the day will be at 9.15am with the first matches commencing at 9.30am sharp.

Racquets for all sports will be provided if you do not have access to your own.
