Entertaining game of rugby

DROMORE U13s travelled to Ophir on Saturday and played some very entertaining rugby.

Freddie Luke’s work with the backs is starting to pay off with some inspiring runs from all involved Rhys Dale, David Lyttle, Mathew Brush, Thomas Priestly to name but a few.

Forwards coaches Clair Kidd, Nigel Dale and Mark Smyth too must be pleased as the boys under their guidance rucked Ophir out of every ball and applied pressure in the scrum and dominated the line outs.

Man of the match this week again saw Ben Heath pick up were he left off at Armagh last weekend with great running from the back of the scrum and his eagerness to bring in the rest of the backs for their rehearsed moves is a credit to this young man.

Aaron Lyttle is improving each match and I see this lad being a number eight for the future

Mathew Pepper as usual driving of the mauls and bursting through numerous tackles to set up the rest of the team which included Richard Dickson Robin Cantley and Rodger Russell.

This week we saw Connor Woods stick to his promise to coach Dale to drive into the gaps and look for space a nifty wee runner and with a great pass onto the on coming hands of “The Rock”

Peter O’Connor saw this duo score at will. James Moore made a welcome return to the team this week and his controlled aggression and deftly handling skills makes him a joy to watch.

Well played lads we look forward with great anticipation to your next match when we hope to see you do it all again.

Unfortunately your roving reporter lost his score card which will probably mean push ups for me when the coaches read this.
