Scarva Rangers Reserves 1

SCARVA Rangers Reserves continued their encouraging start to the new season with a hard earned draw away to Richhill Reserves.

The game was goalless at the half-time interval. Both sides had openings but the Richhill goalkeeper was busier than Scarva counterpart James Clarke.

He first denied Mark Gracey, then produced a fantastic save from a goal bound Mark Baird shot and finally pushed a dangerous Freddie McKelvey strike to safety.

Richhill made the breakthrough midway through the second half, the first goal Scarva’s reserve side had conceded in 250 minutes of play.

James Clarke made a vital save moments later to deny Richhill a second goal.

Just how crucial soon became evident as substitute Petr Hanzo unleashed a clinical low strike to put his side back on level terms.

Best for Scarva Rangers – Brian Topley, who produced a towering display at the heart of the visitors’ defence, and Mark Gracey, with an energy filled performance on the right.
