Easy victory for confident Millpark

MILLPARK took on recently relegated Cooke Collegians at Banford Green.

After a great win last time out at Dungannon confidence was high in the home camp.

Steven Leckey’s first over produced a great one handed catch from Maxwell. Simpson was next to take a catch again from Leckey but fellow paceman Kidd was not to be outdone, chipping in with two wickets of his own, leaving the visitors on 10-4.

Millpark did take the pressure off, allowing Cooke to get to 80 before the next man was out with Woods taking a amazing catch in the deep off Martin.

Wilton was the next fielder called upon with another smart catch off the bowling of Kidd. The Cooke innings eventually finishing on 127 with Kidd taking three wickets, Leckey and Glover both with two and Martin and Robb with one a piece. Wilton was also worth a mention with a run out.

Millpark started off slowly with the bat with openers Robb and Glover both being tested by the pace and accuracy of the Cooke openers but with Glover departing for 13 skipper Martin and Robb saw off the testing openers and started putting the bad ball to the boundary.

In truth both batsmen never gave a chance nor looked like getting out seeing the locals to their target.

With nearly 20 overs left to spare Martin finished on 35 not out and Robb added another 50 to his name, finishing on 55 not out.

Next week Millpark again travel to Dungannon for a Junior Cup tie.

Millpark Seconds took on Templepatrick Seconds recently, completing a 25 run win with Stuart McCart scoring 116 not out.

In doing this he becomes the third generation of the McCart family to score a century for Millpark.
