Having won the Private Greens Triples title last August and then followed this up with the Irish Triples the following month, this then qualified the Gilford trio to a shot at the British Isles Triples title.

Standing in their way of glory firstly are the reigning Scottish Triples Champions, skipped by seasoned International Wayne Hogg.

This game take places this Thursday morning at 9am and should they be successful, they will then face the champions of Guernsey in the semi final, probably later that day.

The final of the British Isles triples is then scheduled for the Friday (27th) afternoon and the locals will be hoping that they are still involved.

All of the Dunbarton club would like to wish their clubmates “all the best” and it would be a fabulous achievement for the locals and their club if they could bring that much coveted title to Gilford.

Dunbarton skip DJ Wilson will also be involved in the Home Internationals on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th, also at Leamington Spa.

He will play second on the rink skipped by Neil Booth and they will face the English rink skipped by S Farish on the Saturday morning, followed by the Welsh rink skipped by J Tomlinson on Saturday afternoon and lastly the Scottish rink which will be skipped by I McLean on Sunday morning.

Conor McCartan has been named as a reserve and he will be hoping that he may get a run out at some stage over the weekend and add to his 3 international caps. The Dunbarton club is very proud of their internationals and would like to wish DJ and Conor good luck for the weekend.

The Dunbarton A team have no match this weekend due to the involvement of David Copeland, Conor McCartan and DJ Wilson at the British Isles Championships. Next up is a home match v Pickie on Tuesday July 1 as the locals aim to continue their unbeaten run in Private Greens Senior Division One.

Chris Mulholland was moved to lead due to the unavailability of David Copeland, but quickly adapted to his new position and produced a polished performance on a very quick green.
