Dromore win Down Shoes Cup

DROMORE NS won the Down Shoes Cup final before a packed audience in Dromore Pavilion, defeating St. Johns SC, Gilford by 27 shots.

Leading by 18 shots after the first run of mats, Dromore NS cruised to victory. The cup was presented to club chairman, Eric Anderson by zone treasurer Eileen Kennedy.

In the subsiduary Ballydougan Cup, Ballydougan B.C. had a narrow four shot victory over The Pavilion.

Rink scores from Down Shoes Cup final: A Johnston16-8 F Polin; D Hamilton15-5V Delaney; L Murray 11-9A Polin; P Reid12-5D Breen.

Stonebridge National Championship Finals: In the above finals at Richhill Recreation Centre, the Annaclone Presbyterian rink of Alfie Ingram, Kyle McBride, Simon McBride and Ian McBride came close to causing an upset before losing to Irish International skip Gerard Conroy by one shot.

These unsung heroes deserve credit for a very gallant performance.
