Dromore Seniors in 11 point defeat in Senior Cup to Dungannon

Dromore Seniors are out of the Irish Senior Cup after losing at home to Dungannon.

Rink 1 were involved in a tight first half. Derek Shanks was just down by two but there was not much in it at the three-quarter stage. After the last six ends Dungannon were five to the good.

Robert Greer’s rink had a bad first half, finishing down by 12. The next quarter was scored all square to leave Robert 12 arrears but in the last six ends the scoring was much better, with the rink finishing seven down.

In the first half rink three took time to settle and was a single ahead but ran out worthy winners by five.

James McKenny’s rink was always chasing the game after going three down at ten ends. They improved to be five behind at the three quarters mark and four at the finish to leave Dungannon into round three. Final score: Dromore 66 Dungannon 77

On Tuesday the seniors will be at home to Banbridge and Wednesday evening will be away to Bangor.

The Juniors are away on Tuesday to Newry and on Wednesday to Balmoral in the Junior Cup and home to Lurgan on Saturday at 2pm
